The Lucas ATD is held together by a collar at the rear which is an
interference fit on the hollow shaft of the ATD. If you need to disassemble
the ATD, you will probably need a press and some ingenuity to support the
ATD while you press the shaft out. Here are a couple of photos of a
disassembled Lucas ATD:-
