Take a look
at some of the equipment we use in our workshop for magneto servicing
and overhauls.
Universal EasyCap for Wico-Pacy Series A Rotating-magnet Magneto
In the Series A, the original X1413/S2555 condenser also serves (a)
as the connecting terminal for the contact-breaker spring and the live
LT connection to the coil, and (b) as the holder for the cam
lubricating wick.
It is therefore useful to retain the moulded plastic housing of the
condenser.
This picture shows the condenser moulding after the guts of the
condenser have been drilled out.
Also, a Universal Easycap has been cut down so that it will fit in the
cavity in the plastic moulding. A short wire tail has been soldered to
one side of the circuit board, and another tail with a solder tag has
been soldered to the opposite side of the circuit board.
The solder tag is then soldered to the brass eyelet on the left in the
picture, and the end of the other tail is soldered to the rear of the blind
brass nut on the right in the picture.
To hold everything firm, a small amount of quick-setting epoxy resin may be
dropped into the cavity.
The modified condenser is then refitted to the magneto.
